Clinical cell‐based versus cell‐free regenerative endodontics: clarification of concept and term

چکیده

There is no consensus on the true meaning of clinical regenerative endodontics, and there confusion over concept term. Commonly used terms include revitalization revascularization. The methods for endodontic procedures tissue engineering differ depending whether exogenous delivery cells – called cell therapy, or not. Here, in this review, difference clarified by emphasizing correct terminology: cell-free versus cell-based therapy (CF-RET CB-RET). practised clinically do not fit into modern concepts pulp regeneration but can be categorized as CF-RET. a CB-RET, which so far at trial stage. However, histological examination teeth following treatments reveals healing with repair derived from stem that originate periodontal, bone other tissues. aim endodontics pulp–dentine complex. This review discusses why CF-RET unlikely to regenerate complex current protocols. American Association Endodontists European Society Endodontology have yet recommended autologous transplantation (CB-RERT) aspires regeneration. Therefore, an understanding concept, term, difficulties differences protocols important clinician. rather than being discouraged ideal has been achieved date, acceptable outcome it also accepted medicine. Repair should considered context resolution signs/symptoms necrosis/apical periodontitis generally reliably obtained endodontics.

Stem Cells in Regenerative Endodontics

Background Currently, clinical endodontics includes procedures that are based on the ability of stem cells to accomplish repair (eg, direct pulp capping, apexogenesis, apexification, and even pulpal regeneration). An attempt is made to critically assess the current status in pulp regeneration therapy. Methods: Systematically, 2 distinctly different strategies exist involving stem cells for t...

Regeneration and Repair in Endodontics—A Special Issue of the Regenerative Endodontics—A New Era in Clinical Endodontics

Caries is the most common cause of pulp-periapical disease. When the pulp tissue involved in caries becomes irreversibly inflamed and progresses to necrosis, the treatment option is root canal therapy because the infected or non-infected necrotic pulp tissue in the root canal system is not accessible to the host's innate and adaptive immune defense mechanisms and antimicrobial agents. Therefore...

Biomimetic microenvironments for regenerative endodontics

Regenerative endodontics has been proposed to replace damaged and underdeveloped tooth structures with normal pulp-dentin tissue by providing a natural extracellular matrix (ECM) mimicking environment; stem cells, signaling molecules, and scaffolds. In addition, clinical success of the regenerative endodontic treatments can be evidenced by absence of signs and symptoms; no bony pathology, a dis...

Antiseptics and Antibiotics Used in Regenerative Endodontics

Contemporary endodontics and the future of endodontics are based on regenerative strategies. Success of these regenerative endodontic treatments depends on disinfection of the root canal system. Current research in endodontics focuses on identifying the optimal methods of disinfection of root canal systems to achieve predictable results in revascularization therapy. Although the use of sodium h...
